Webinar Description:

Over a year has passed since the initiation of the PDPM system for Medicare Part A claims. So, why is it that there is a huge disparity in how nursing facilities code specific MDS items. This session will discuss multiple MDS sections, work to alleviate the apprehension in how these sections are coded, address how to eliminate these fears, provide tools and strategies for consistent and clear coding approaches based on Federal guidelines. In addition, this webinar will focus on diagnosis selection, interviews, and physician collaboration to optimize care coordination, documentation and coding practices that will serve to abolish the worries of teams when it comes to MDS coding decisions.

Objectives:

•Learn approaches for communication to clarify diagnosis codes and special conditions.

•Better understand interview and ARD selection guidance to reduce fears of using earlier dates.

•Review tools to facilitate team collaborative efforts, flexibility and accuracy with coding and reimbursement.
